Startup Ethics Roundtable (December)

December 8 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Explore the ethical impacts of startups through roundtable discussion.

Join the Hurt Hub@Davidson for a casual roundtable conversation to discuss ethical issues as they intersect with startups and business. Each month we will choose an interesting topic or case from the startup world to converse about. Discussions will be led by a volunteer facilitator who will prepare a few questions to get the group thinking and talking. In some cases, there might be a short news article emailed to registered participants a few days in advance to provide additional context. This is a recurring event taking place on the second Thursday of the month from 11:15a-12:15p. Discussions will take place in the social commons of the Hurt Hub.

Free and open to both Davidson students and the community.

December’s Facilitator is Ed Gorman.

December’s Topic: Do Some Companies Get a “Pass” on Ethical Behavior?

Description: Join us as we discuss whether some companies are allowed to act unethically, without repercussions, because their product or service’s overall benefits are good for us personally or for society as a whole. You will be able to share your thoughts and ideas and listen as others do the same. Be part of a lively discussion.
