Discover our commitment to accessibility
The Hurt Hub at Davidson College is committed to diversity and inclusion with the goal of providing an accessible, usable and welcoming digital experience and environment for students, faculty, staff, coworkers, and guests with disabilities.
Overview
The Hurt Hub at Davidson College has an inclusive approach to all aspects of accessibility. We believe accessibility is everyone’s responsibility, and we work together as a community to make our programs, services, events, and activities welcoming and usable for all.
We’re always looking for new technology, programming options, and building improvements that may better enable our community to enjoy the space and program offerings.
If you have suggestions of how the Hurt Hub might improve our disability access, please contact us to share your comments at hurthub@davidson.edu.
Digital
We are committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and we work to improve accessibility on an ongoing basis.
Accessibility features we build toward include resizable text, compatibility with common screen readers, sufficient color contrast, and full keyboard navigation. If you encounter a barrier, please contact us at hurthub@davidson.edu and we will work to resolve it.
Facilities & parking
All guests may access the building through our front door, open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. If you have a room reservation that begins earlier or ends later, the front door will be unlocked to get you started. In the event you are bringing any equipment into the building, we can assist you with accessing the back entrance loading dock for drop-off purposes.
The Hurt Hub strives to make our physical space and programming accessible for all. Our facilities are fully accessible and ADA compliant. Accessible seating is available in several open seating locations throughout our building and able to be moved into our larger meeting rooms and event spaces.

Events & programming
What to expect
When you attend an event or program sponsored by the Hurt Hub, you can expect to hear from us in advance. Depending on the event, we’ll share details like an agenda or schedule, timing, and any other information to help you know what to expect before you arrive.
We’ll also give you the opportunity to share dietary restrictions or other accommodation needs ahead of time, so we can plan with you in mind from the start.
On the day of the event, our team works to ensure that the environment and programming are accessible and comfortable for everyone. Microphones are used by presenters and, at larger events, during audience Q&A as well, so spoken content is clear throughout the room. Captioning is available at larger events and can be arranged upon request for other events. Food, when provided, is labeled. Our single-level, ADA-compliant facility includes automated doors, accessible restrooms, and adjustable tables, and our team is always happy to help with anything not covered here.
If you have questions ahead of an event or would like to request a specific accommodation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at hurthub@davidson.edu. We’re committed to making every Hurt Hub event a space where everyone can participate fully.
