Carson studied in the Hurt Hub frequently her first year. After spending a good amount of time in the Hurt Hub, she started to notice advertisements for grants, events, and funding opportunities. Carson received $10,000 from the Avinger Impact Fund and was able to create CA’Buddy. Carson had the idea to create a small plush toy, as a comfort for those undergoing cancer treatment. With help from funds from the Hurt Hub, Carson was able to create a few prototypes, a logo, and begin to expand his company. CA’Buddy is dedicated to raising awareness and research funds for oligodendroglioma, a rare brain cancer, and for naked mole rats.
