Amplify Davidson is a collaborative community initiative, formed through a partnership between the Town of Davidson and the Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship which seeks to support the growth of Davidson small businesses and equip residents to thrive as entrepreneurs.
The initiative aims to ignite the growth of existing small businesses through a multifaceted approach, encompassing skills-based educational programming, access to business consulting, and a commitment to providing underrepresented business owners with subsidized talent.
Additionally, Amplify Davidson is dedicated to preparing Davidson residents for entrepreneurial success by connecting them with the resources at the Hurt Hub and identifying key areas for entrepreneurial skill-building, especially among underrepresented community members.
Together, we aim to amplify the town’s economic growth, while furthering our community’s business success.
Actionable skill-development is a key area of focus for Amplify Davidson. Through the community’s feedback, we have begun to determine relevant learning opportunities to support their business goals. Skills in marketing, adapting to current tech trends, and entrepreneurship fundamentals are initial focus areas, with plans to expand educational offerings in the future. All programs through Amplify Davidson are free to current residents. Learners outside of Davidson are welcome to attend programs at the determined cost.

Through the Gig-Hub program, we can match you with Davidson College students to complete short-term projects. Add capacity to your team and access talent for short-term projects in order to satisfy needs for data analysis, market research, social media marketing, and more. Gig-Hub student consultants are employees of Davidson College, but receive project assignments and direction from you, the client. We take care of the paperwork and taxes, so you can focus on the gig.
