We are creating a safe space for students to take risks, test ideas, and access mentorship and funding before they ever leave campus. At the same time, we foster a lively community where alumni reconnect, give back, and keep growing alongside the next generation. Ultimately, this is a gathering place where the Charlotte region comes together to collaborate and drive economic growth.

CaseMock: Anushri Modi '26 and Srijit Banerjee '26

Anushri Modi ’26 and Srijit Banerjee ’26 met long before Davidson College, but it was the Hurt Hub that turned a decade of friendship into a business. Their venture, CaseMock, uses AI to help college students prepare for case interviews in management consulting. A Try It Fund win got them started thanks to the generous support from the Charlie Hinnant ’72 Fund. The Avinger Impact Fund helped them build a working version of their product. Along the way, mentors like Entrepreneurship Program Manager Charles Smith and Alumni Innovator-in-Residence Andrew Ashur ’19 shaped how they built it, who they talked to, and how they pitched. They later brought CaseMock to the Nisbet Venture Fund competition, sharpening their pitch even further. CaseMock now has more than 85 sign-ups and 60 returning users, with plans to expand to other schools.

Koredo Koir:
Victoria Ochieng '27

Victoria Ochieng ’27 grew up in a small village in Kenya with a deep sense of giving back, and that instinct became Koredo Koir, an agro-based company that upcycles coconut husk waste into eco-friendly products. The Avinger Impact Fund helped her business move faster than she imagined: a new production site, new equipment, and product testing all happened in a single summer. Just as important were the regular check-ins with Hurt Hub staff who helped her work through the harder parts of building something real. Victoria is now a leader in the Davidson Entrepreneurship Club, carrying the same pay it forward mindset that brought her to the Hurt Hub in the first place.
