COVID-19 Update

We are open and adhering to the latest guidelines set forth by Davidson College, the Town of Davidson, and Mecklenburg County. The Hurt Hub@Davidson will continue to follow guidance in managing risks against the spread of COVID-19. Remember that we are all responsible for our own well-being and safety. We are also in community with one another, so following these guidelines helps keep others healthy too.

New Mask Guidelines

Effective immediately, Davidson College has implemented a mask wearing policy, based on our shared responsibility. This means all students, faculty, staff – and any users of our facility – are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times indoors during this time period. The college is establishing these guidelines because of our past experience. If we wear masks indoors, we limit any potential spread following the rush of student move-in. We will continue to let you know as guidelines are adjusted and remain grateful for your support and work. We are continuing to evaluate this policy and will communicate updates as we receive guidance from the College.

Anyone who is not fully vaccinated should continue to wear masks in all settings. Those who are fully vaccinated and wish to continue wearing a mask for a measure of safety are encouraged to do so.

As a reminder, DO NOT come into the building if you are feeling any symptoms of sickness, if someone in your household is feeling unwell, or if you’ve been in contact with anyone who is presumed positive to have COVID-19.  Quarantining is still the most effective way to contain any potential spread of the virus.

What We are Doing to Maintain Sanitation

  • Regular housekeeping – including bathrooms, common areas and surfaces. All cleaning and janitorial services are provided by Davidson College Building Services.
  • Full-service cleaning happens every morning before 8AM (Monday-Friday) including: trash removal, recycling removal, floor care, restroom cleaning, and surface cleaning of all common area tables, chairs, counters, and surfaces.
  • Disinfecting supplies are available in common areas and meeting rooms for occupants to self-clean.
  • We will continue to stock hand sanitizer around the building. Use liberally!
  • We will continue to use paper products in the beverage bar area.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to adapt to changing circumstances and for your support and care for each other.
